modify the picture "Date Taken"
Working on jpg picture files, using a pattern to change dates and times from the file name, it would be useful to be able to modify the picture "Date Taken". Are there any solutions?

Hi Christian,
From your post I can't tell exactly what you want to do. Do you mean:
1) You want to use the "Date Taken" metadata value to modify the Windows CreateDate or ModifyDate?
or
2) You want to modify the "Date Taken" metadata value from something from a pattern in the filename?
or
3) You want to modify the "Date Taken" metadata value from the Windows CreateDate or ModifyDate?
or
4) Something else completely different?
NOTE: Any of the following may be different in the French, or another, translation.
If 1), you can use a Timestamp method to change the Windows date/time value (modified date only on Mac)...
Apply to: [whatever fields you want to modify]
Set to: Metadata field
Field: Date Taken
If 2), Timestamp method:
Apply to: [whatever fields]
Set to: Filename pattern
Pattern: A character string built with the special tags <Year>, <Month>, <Day>, <Hour>, <Min>,
(for example, "<Year>-<Month>-<Day>" or "<Day>.<Month>.<Year>", etc)
If 3), I don't think there's a way to automate Metadata writing. There is a Metadata writer in the latest versions that allows you to change values for one file at a time (I think, I haven't really experimented with that feature).
If 4), we'll need more information in order to help you. Let us know.
Best,
DF

Salut mes amis,
I think you want to change the metadata fields in your JPG files.
In the Tools menu, click on Metadata and you will be able to modify the metadata of your selected pictures.
Cheers
