Program Crash
Program crashes every time I try to add files to rename !!!

If that's true, Post enough information for us to duplicate the problem.

What kind of files?
What are the file and path names?
What is your OS?
What version of Aren?
Adding them how? Drag-and-drop?
From where? Cloud drive? Network storage? Flash drive? Etc.?

This the latest ARM Mac version
After trying different files, different locations on disk, it looks like the program does not support renaming pdf files.
If I manually rename the file to have a txt or xls extension Advanced Renamer adds the file to the list with no problems.
If it is a pdf extension it does not matter if using the menu choice or drag-and-drop.

Well, Kim will have to address this. I don't do Mac.
As a test, try checking all four "Don't analyze" checkboxes in the "Media files" settings.
Then see if the program will let you add your pdf files.
It's a bug either way, but that could narrow it down.
Likewise, if you have a PC handy, see if it will add the same files. This could help rule out corrupt files. (But the program should warn about corrupt files, not crash.)
After you post those results, contact Kim at email support.

It does support PDF files, but there is a known issue where large or even just complex PDF files can make the program crash. For the upcoming release of version 4.28, the reading of PDF files has become more reliable and less prone to crashes. It will be released within the next 10 days.

Thanks for the suggestion !!
After checking all four "Don't analyze" checkboxes in the "Media files" settings I was able to add all my pdf files and batch the rename to successful completion.
