Slow analysing files

Hi all,

Been using AR for years - absolutely love it. Have an issue recently where it's awful slow analysing a folder I've dragged in. After an event with 1500-2000 photos, it can take a 15-20 mins.

Don't think it's the app tbh - probably windows related, or an update or something. Wondering if anyone had this before and has some pointers.

A bit more info - my raw files are on a Synology NAS, and I'm running Windows 10. Just took about 15 mins to analyse 2272 files. Only took about 25s to actually rename them.

Do you actually need ARen to analyze all the image files on loading?

Try selecting "Don't analyze image metadata" on the "Image files" tab of the "Settings" dialogue.

Thank you. No I don't! Did not even know that was an option. I've turned it off and re-started it. Still tries to analyse, but I can cancel that. Takes a few seconds and then they're all listed ready for work.
