I have 18 folders that each have multiple image files in them and a subfolder with their own set of files. I want to rename and number the folders Meat 1-18 and apply the name to the beginning of the original names of the subfolders and their own files (e.g. the subfolder inside Meat 1 is called cleaned, I want add the name of the parent folder to the beginning of its own name so that the subfolder and its own files so that they have all have the name Meat 1 cleaned, and I want to do this to the other subfolders and files inside them with their respective parent folders)> How do I do all of these things at once?

Hi Jalen, I don't understand.. Please include examples. Also, when you say "all these things at once," do you mean all in one method or all in one batch process? You can't change both files and folders "at once" so I'm not sure that's going to happen. Best, DF |

Here's an example https://imgur.com/a/Qr33QZd I want to rename the folders in the top image to Keijo 1-18, then apply that name to the beginning of the original name of the subfolders. For example, in the bottom image, cleaned becomes Keijo 1 cleaned, then apply that name applies to the subfolder's own files in the middle image. And for the second part, I mean all in one method, but I accept all in one batch process if that's not possible. |

Hello As Foxtrop Delta has told you this can´t be done in one step. It is impossible to rename folders, subfolders and files at the same time. You will have to do it in several steps. Anyway, you will save much more time than doing it manually. Drag all your folders Keijo!!!!! v* to the main window. Image1 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KdNuSSm6LwzOhRe hHOTwcEg4PASUWKlV/view?usp=drive_link - Then apply them the New Name method: New Name: Keijo <Inc Nr:1> Image2 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ftMm9huWV2036rS sys3Lq7sgNgzDtf8I/view?usp=drive_link - Press Start Batch Now you must reload the subfolders: Drag, again, the new rename folders to the main window. Now we are going to rename the "Cleaned" subfolders. Image3 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NZN1SMGO6ys0coR 2pzIJ6AC1cbuG9Ydm/view?usp=drive_link - Again, New name method: New Name: <FolderName:1> <Name> Image4 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YmMVtewpcz3hEHQ kYwHupgxXsB1k81Yj/view?usp=drive_link - Press Start Batch. Now we are going to rename files: Again, drag the folders on main window Image5 https://drive.google.com/file/d/15B5ijfROVSKgxln oeaX1RfL50BQjuoPN/view?usp=drive_link - New name method: <FolderName:1> <Name> Image6 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D34ZO7AG450r_g6 MFKicN_ZdT9B0_fK1/view?usp=drive_link - As you can see you have some files with double numbers 06_07*.png. I think that you will want maintain this. Now we have some abundant "_Clean" that we can remove with the Replace method: Replace: _Clean Replace with: (empty) Image7 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aWwhrD1bJZr8_kI 1JdrHkeYCRTjSBpB8/view?usp=drive_link - I know it may seem complicated but I was able to do it in less than 2 minutes. I hope I'm not wrong with the screenshots. BE SURE TO DO A BACKUP BEFORE AND YOU CAN REVERSE THE CHANGES IN ADREN IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. Miguel |
