Hi. Love this tool!
Does anyone know how I would remove a varied amount of characters which may include letters, numbers, dashes and or dots but then leave the final two characters at the end of the file name? Example Starting Filename: GHC-STH-AR-03-00-W-111-GL GENERAL ARRANGEMENT PLAN - ED_F.pdf Desired Filename: GHC-STH-AR-03-00-W-111_F The problem I have is that the characters in the middle may vary in length and content but the first 22 characters and the last 2 characters always need to be retained. Any ideas? Thanks |

Hello Richard, G'Day from Texas - the Australia of the USA :) You want the first 22 characters and the last two characters. Easy mate. Use a NEW NAME method and this phrase: <Substr:1:22><RSubstr:1:2> Example: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pu7y56PkCBPdxYf lGNdE3iO1aWpR7MLl/view?usp=sharing <tags> are your friend! :) EDIT: Meant to add address for tags usage in the User Guide: https://www.advancedrenamer.com/user_guide/tags END EDIT Best, DF |
