I am using the latest version of Advanced Renamer 4.06, but I have also observed the behaviour I am about to describe in earlier versions.
I often find myself having to rename files in a folder that initially have names like the following: 0.jpg 1.jpg 2.jpg ... 10.jpg 11.jpg ... 100.jpg 101.jpg ... Loading files in Advanced Renamer by default sorts them as follows: 0.jpg 1.jpg 10.jpg 100.jpg 101.jpg 102.jpg ... 109.jpg 11.jpg 110.jpg 111.jpg ... 119.jpg 12.jpg ... By clicking on the header of the first column (‘Filename’), the sorting becomes the desired one described at the beginning. Is it possible to make Advanced Renamer apply this last sorting when loading files in a folder as default? The second problem is as follows. When loading files in the folder, the programme automatically applies the renaming method already present. However, if I reorder the files (e.g. by clicking on ‘Filename’), the files change order but the values in the second column (‘New filename’) remain stationary and do not change according to the new sorting: to fix this, I have to select the ‘Refresh’ command from the context menu. Can this latter behaviour, which I personally do not consider correct, be changed? |

Ciao, are you a Windows or Mac user? I can't reproduce your problems on my Windows 11 OS. -- Ciao, stai usando Windows o Mac? Su Windows 11 non riscontro i tuoi problemi. |

If you choose to sort by a particular column, Advanced Renamer will not resort the complete list after adding more files. You will have to click the column header to sort the list again. |

I do not set any sorting and leave the default program settings. I did a test (always on my Surface Pro 6 with Windows 11 Pro 24H2) clean installation of Advanced Renamer 4.06 in portable version. I started the programme without changing any settings and loaded the files in a folder. This was the result: https://ibb.co/B20nwrx Clicking on the ‘Filename’ column header I get this: https://ibb.co/WN9DRvR |

Ciao, I have reproduced your first problem, adding masked files in folders using the Add Folder command within the program. Instead, adding the files using the Add Files command and also using the context menu works fine. Kim will have the solution :) Buone feste Happy Holidays |

The same problem with adding folders is also present in version 4.07. :) |
