use of \ to set an output folder path that is based on filename

I have just upgraded to 4.10 and it seems that I can no longer interrogate the filename to make it part of the output path
e.g. G:\Temp_Pictures\Test Output\<Year Modified>\<Month Modified>\RAW

Tthe above use to work really well but I now see an error message saying can't use <>/\etc in the filename, or am I just using the software incorrectly?

My use case is take photo files from a number of years (all in one source folder) and store them automatically in a folder structure that such as D:\yyyy\mm\jpeg etc

I suspect I may need to find an older version of the software as it use to work really well for the above

Update : think its me - I forgot to add some of the above to the Output path and left in it the name section
