Deploy Advanced Renamer and license key in a corporate environment

Note, this guide is valid for Advanced Renamer version 4.09 and later. If you need instructions for an earlier version, please write an email to Support.

This guide provides instructions for deploying Advanced Renamer in a corporate environment, including how to install the software and deploy the license key.
It is intended for IT administrators and system integrators who need to deploy the software across multiple machines. The instructions cover both traditional installations using an installer and portable deployments using a ZIP archive. Additionally, it explains how to deploy the license key for both individual users and across multiple machines.

Download the Distribution Package

Download the desired installation package from the Advanced Renamer download page. You can choose between:

Installer (for traditional installations)
Portable ZIP version (no installation required)

Follow the relevant instructions below based on your preferred deployment method.

Deployment using installer

The standard Advanced Renamer installer supports silent and unattended installation using command-line switches. To install silently without user interaction:

advanced_renamer_setup_4_xx.exe /VERYSILENT

To show a progress bar during installation:

advanced_renamer_setup_4_xx.exe /SILENT

Deployment using ZIP archive (portable version)

Extract the ZIP archive to a folder of your choice.
Run the application directly from that folder or create a shortcut to aren.exe.

License deployment options

Option A: Deploy license file to program folder

Use the license file generator to create a license file based on the license key.
Save the file as lic (with no file extension).
Place the file in the same folder as the executable:

C:\Program Files\Advanced Renamer\
```

When a user launches the program, the license will be detected automatically. The user will only be prompted to enter their email address to complete activation.

If the system lacks internet access, the user will be redirected to a webpage to manually retrieve and enter an activation key.

Option B: Deploy license file to user AppData folder

Alternatively, the license file can be deployed per user:

Follow the same steps to generate the lic file.
Place the file in the following path, replacing YOUR USERNAME with the appropriate username:

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Hulubulu\Advanced Renamer 4\Data
```
